The focus

I work at a large regional hospital, and provide a broad range of services in general Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (Ear, Nose and Throat surgery) for adults and children. Besides this, I specialize in providing advanced medical and surgical care of the nose and sinus disorders, including including sinusitis, nasal polyps, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, septal deviations and turbinate hypertrophy, as well as benign tumours of the nose and sinuses. I also specilize in  thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland and surgery for congenital  lesions of the neck.

Children

I love working with kids, and I see many children in my practice. The most common reasons for referral include recurrent throat infections (tonsillitis / strep throat), sleep apnea, recurrent ear infections or persistent hearing loss due to middle ear fluid, tongue tie and small congenital lesions of the neck. The most common procedures are tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ventilation tube insertion (myringotomy and tubes), tongue tie release, and others.

Turnaround of common tests

CT scans and MRI (sinuses, head, neck, chest, etc) – usually done at Lakeridge Health sites or GNMI. Timing is based on priority, and can be as urgently as within days or up to several weeks. If the patient is from more than an hour away, we can consider ordering tests at your local hospital.

Ultrasounds and ultrasound-guided biopsies (FNA) – Lakeridge Health or Courtice Clinic (for thyroid utrasounds and biopsies). Timing is based on priority, and can be as urgently as within days or up to several weeks.

X-rays – usually same day at the Oshawa Clinic.

Bloodwork – can be done anywhere and results are sent to me. I can also access them via provincial system called OLIS. At the Oshawa Clinic, this can be done the day of your appointment.
